The 488 GTB was designed for top performance by the Ferrari Styling Center. It features beautifully sculptural flanks which are key to its character and performance. It has a large signature air intake scallop and is divided into two sections by a splitter. The front of the 488 is characterized by a dual grille opening and a double front spoiler.
The body of the 488 GTB features a bonnet with a pronounced, raised central section and two side channels. These two channels have a dual function–they make the car look more sporty AND they channel the air from the two vents in the bumper of the vehicle. The tail is dominated by its blown spoiler and large air vents, both of which help improve the car’s aerodynamics.
The exterior of the 488 GTM is meant to provide a sense of power and performance–which the vehicle exudes from all angles and sides.
The new 488 GTB’s cabin was designed to exude extreme sportiness without sacrificing the comfort of its occupants. Its cockpit is tailored directly around the driver’s needs. The vehicle commands are not clustered on the steering wheel–they’re on the wraparound satellite pods instead and are angled directly towards the driver for ease of use. The 488’s dashboard is lighter and more horizontally compact than ever before and features ultra-sporty air vents.
Its cabin is an effortless marriage of innovative volumes and compact, functional forms. It is beautifully handcrafted with materials and trim that are as elegant as they are sporty. The Ferrari designers placed a strong emphasis on creating functional spaces, so the cabin has plenty of storage space and the main function buttons are now in a more ergonomic position to make them easier to reach. Overall, the 488 GTB’s interior is more comfortable and stylish than ever before.
The 488 GTB’s V8 engine is a brilliant encapsulation of Ferrari’s DNA. The 3902 CC power unit is Ferrari’s most high performance engine ever. It has zero turbo lag and brings with it a unique soundtrack, never heard in a Ferrari before. The new engine guarantees unmatched driving pleasure for drivers of all abilities.
The V8 engine delivers 670 CV at 8,000 RPM and provides torque delivery that is both smooth and progressive in the higher gears. It also has an ion-sensing system, which helps control ignition timing and is able to predict misfires.
