Exterior Design

The new 488 Spider was thoughtfully designed by the Ferrari Design centre. It features muscular, sporty allure and a radical new styling honed around its aerodynamic requirements.

The 488 Spider has classic Ferrari mid-rear-engined sports car proportions, including a short muscular front wing into which the bumper is wedged. Its flanks feature new side air intakes for the intercoolers, which draws the eyes. Its proportions lend a sense of power and speed.

The front of the new 488 is characterized by a single grille opening and a pronounced, raised central section in its bonnet.

Interior Features

The 488 Spider’s interior was designed to underscore Ferrari’s Formula 1-inspired philosophy of creating a seamless relationship between driver and car. In its cockpit, the vehicle commands are not clustered on the steering wheel–they’re on the wraparound satellite pods instead and are angled directly towards the driver for ease of use. The 488 Spider has a new lighter and more horizontally compact dashboard. It curves around the cockpit and features sporty air vents.

The 488 Spider includes Apple CarPlay and a new Sport infotainment system. This new system includes an instrument cluster perfectly placed in the driver’s line of sight and keeps all of the various functionalities immediately at hand.

Engine

The 488 Spider features a powerful 3902cc turbo-charged V8 Powertrain. It is Ferrari’s most high performance engine ever with both zero turbo lag and an exhilarating soundtrack. It sets a new benchmark for every other vehicle in its class and with this type of architecture.

Its impressive power output of 670 CV and provides both smooth and progressive torque delivery in the higher gears due to the Variable Torque Management system. This lets the 488 Spider go from 0 to 100 km/h in an impressive 3 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in just 8.7 seconds.
